The Venue: The Raleigh Convention Center

The brand new state of the art Raleigh Convention Center is proud to call Internet Summit home. Located in vibrant downtown Raleigh, the Convention Center is surrounded by the best restaurants and nightlife Raleigh has to offer. We encourage IS12 attendees to soak up some of the sights and tastes Raleigh has to offer. For more on the convention center visit www.raleighconvention.com. Depending on the time of day, the convention center is roughly 15-20 minutes from RDU International Airport (see directions below).

The City: Raleigh, North Carolina

Raleigh, North Carolina (America’s most wired city as just ranked by Forbes) is part of one of the nation’s foremost technology hubs. The area surrounding the conference center and hotel provide access to some of Raleigh’s best restaurants, offering a range of cuisine options, as well hip bars and nightclubs -- all within walking distance. If you have some extra time while you are in Raleigh, there are a number of Museums and Historical sites located close to Internet Summit 2012. While you’ll find plenty of options within walking distance, if you decide to extend your downtown experience, just hop on the free rotating downtown hydrogen powered “R Line” bus.

We encourage you to explore Internet Summit's host city here.

Transportation

The convention center is 15-20 minutes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (see directions below) depending on traffic and time of day. Taxi’s generally cost $25 - $30 each way between the convention center/downtown Marriott and Raleigh-Durham International Airport. There are taxi stands just outside the convention center (to the right of the building as you face the main entrance) and outside the Marriott lobby.

You can explore most of downtown Raleigh restaurant and nightlife on foot. If you want to extend your horizon a bit, you can easily explore other adjacent nightlife areas such as Glenwood South and the Warehouse District by hopping on the free downtown circulating hydrogen powered “R Line” bus.
